My passion for education began long before I considered teaching as a career. I grew up figure skating, a sport that gave me purpose, energy and skills that I took pride in. As a teenager I began coaching lessons to share my love for the ice with others. Through supporting my skaters as they progressed and gained confidence on the ice, I became self-aware of the way teaching made me feel. This joy, empathy and connection to my students are the same feelings I get in the classroom. Kids deserve to find themselves through successes, challenges, and love. I believe teaching students through their passions lead kids to be the best versions of themselves. Inquiry learning accomplishes this, as it allows students to investigate what matters to them.
